How can integration be successful?

To answer this fundamental question for the MaWIC-project, we refer to the scientific research by Steffi Robak who developed the Model of Cultural Learning Formations. This model considers successful integration as learning on three levels. The first level concerns the individual, biographical and situational background of a person, the second takes the individual learning forms and options of qualification at the workplace into account and the third level focuses on the individual access to cultural learning and cultural education.

Furthermore it states, that integration is not only the task of the migrants, but also of the society, the migrant is integrated into. The formation of two parallel worlds of the majority and the minority society (migrants and majority keep to themselves) should be prevented.

The Model of Cultural Learning Formations is the scientific baseline for the MaWIC-Project. For a more detailed description of the model, please click here.
